Hello all,

I'm Akshat Mathur a technical leader in the software R&D department of a leading multinational company in Hyderabad.

My diabetes story

My diabetes was detected as part of an annual health check-up provided by the company. I went to get my wife's checkup done for vitamin deficiency but discovered that my fasting sugar was more than 230 and my HbA1c came as 9.4.

Family history-wise, my mother has borderline diabetes.

It was a surprise to me when my diabetes was detected. Glucose levels were high in my urine but my body did not display any typical diabetes symptoms.

How did FFD happen?

We were in disbelief the day my diabetes was discovered. I urged my wife not to tell anyone about the news, but she was concerned and told a family acquaintance.
