My Diabetes Story

I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2008 after a mild stomach ache and fever. For over a decade, I managed it fairly well with minimal medication and no major complications.

But in 2021, everything changed. Losing my wife to COVID-19 hit me hard—I was overwhelmed with anxiety and began losing a lot of weight. My BMI, already low at around 20, dropped even further when my weight fell to 46 kg.

As my anxiety increased, my blood sugar levels became difficult to control, And My HbA1c shot up to 7.2—the highest it had ever been in my 15-year journey with diabetes. I also started facing physical issues, Including back pain in the L5–S1 region.

How was FFD introduced and why did I choose to join it?

This emotional and physical crisis pushed me to seek deeper support, and that’s when my Daughter's Friend who worked at Freedom from Diabetes (FFD) suggested that I join the program.  I enrolled in HTP, The Annual FFD Program.

Reversal Story

The FFD team studied my case in detail and designed a tailor-made plan.

I actively took part in the transformation sessions under Dr. Tripathi’s guidance and also had counseling sessions with Ms. Kavita  (the inner transformation expert) —both of which played a key role in reducing my anxiety and improving my emotional well-being.

As my stress levels went down, my insulin requirement dropped by nearly 50% over a year. I went from taking 20 units to just 10 (7 in the morning and 3 at night).

My HbA1c also improved to a healthy 5.9, and I gained around 10 kg—reaching 56 kg—thanks to focused strength training and muscle gain.

I credit my recovery to consistent practices like meditation, pranayama, yoga, and strength and core exercises, all backed by FFD’s structured guidance.

After my wife’s passing, stress and anxiety became major triggers for my sugar fluctuations. With the tools I have learned through FFD, I have managed them effectively. Today, I feel mentally stable, physically stronger, and emotionally balanced.

My journey proves that with the right emotional healing, lifestyle changes, and expert support, it’s possible to rebuild life and health even after a deep personal loss.
