My Diabetes Story

I had gestational diabetes earlier, but it wasn’t until later that my diabetes became long-term.

Initially, I didn’t have severe symptoms, just fatigue and occasional tiredness. Over time, medications became a routine part of my life, but I always hoped for a natural way out.

How I Found FFD 

In our society, I heard references to Freedom From Diabetes (FFD). I explored their programs and realized reversal was not only possible but achievable with the right approach.

I joined with the intention to take charge of my health and break free from long-term medication.

Reversal Journey

When I joined FFD, my highest HbA1c was 6.5. Within just 1.5 months, I stopped all my diabetes medicines, and in the following months, I was also able to stop my cholesterol medication within 8 months.

My HbA1c has now improved to 5.2–5.3, well within the normal range. I lost 15 kg in 8 months, going from 65 kg to 50 kg, surpassing my original target of 10 kg.

Along with achieving sugar control and weight loss, I completely resolved my long-standing acidity problems. 

Lifestyle Changes 

I followed structured meal plans, sometimes one meal, sometimes two or three, depending on the phase. I switched to healthier food choices and followed my dietitian’s advice strictly.

Athletic Identity

I now practice yoga regularly, including 12 Surya Namaskars daily, light dumbbell exercises, stretching, and walk around 5 km per week. These small, consistent steps have built my new lifestyle foundation.

Inner Transformation

I have been practicing meditation with Art of Living (Ravi Shankar’s guidance). It has helped me stay calm, reduce stress, and maintain focus.

Though I didn’t take individual psychologist sessions, I benefited from group sessions and mindfulness practices.

Challenges & Breakthroughs

The first 3.5 months were challenging adapting to a new diet, routines, and exercise took effort. But once it became part of my life, it no longer felt like a struggle.

I now enjoy this way of living and plan to continue it for life.
