Hello!
I’m Asha Singhania from Raipur, a housewife, nutritionist, and a lifelong social worker. As treasurer of a women’s welfare committee, I’ve always believed in empowering others. But through FFD, I took a moment to look inward, reaffirm my own lifestyle, and understand where even the healthiest habits can benefit from structure.
Key Takeaways
- Diagnosed with prediabetes and stayed stable for 4.5 years
- Latest HbA1c: 5.8
- Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT): Cleared
My Diabetes Story
Health has been my focus for as long as I can remember. I’ve been practicing yoga and walking daily since before marriage for more than 35 years now.
My husband and I regularly visited a naturopathy centre in Bangalore, and both of us follow a clean, traditional diet with no fried food, limited sweets, and lots of balance.
About 4.5 years ago, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. I had no symptoms, no fatigue, no weight issues and the diagnosis didn’t worry me too much. I continued monitoring it while staying true to my routine.
How FFD Was Introduced
My husband, ever supportive and proactive, came across Freedom from Diabetes online. He suggested I give it a try.
I was skeptical at first after all, I was already doing yoga, following a disciplined diet, and I’m a trained nutritionist myself.
But eventually, at his insistence, I joined the program.
My Experience with FFD
Because my habits were already aligned with the FFD protocols, I didn’t find it difficult to follow the guidelines.
My HbA1c had never crossed 5.9, and my recent report showed 5.8. I also took the Glucose Tolerance Test, and I’m happy to say I cleared it.
I haven’t seen major new benefits from FFD, but that’s not the program’s fault. It’s mine.
I know there were moments when I indulged in mangoes and sweets here and there, especially during festivals. But I’ve always returned to my disciplined base.
Health Conditions & Medication
I’ve had thyroid imbalance for some years now and continue to take prescribed medication.
There was no change in that area after joining FFD. My weight is currently around 62.3 kg.
I don’t have cholesterol problems, and my blood pressure is stable.
Inner Work & Self-Reflection
While yoga has always been part of my lifestyle, I never really connected with meditation.
I didn’t attend the Inner Transformation sessions not because I disagreed with them, but simply because I didn’t feel called to them.
What FFD gave me, however, was structure. A framework to validate that I was doing things right.
It reminded me to stay committed even when I know the science.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
I still walk every day. I still practice yoga. My food is home-cooked, natural, and simple. I continue serving my community as part of my women’s welfare work.
I may not have had a dramatic transformation, but I deeply believe in prevention, and FFD is a strong program for those who are new to that journey.
