Hello, I am Jayanthimala Rajasekaran, a 61-year-old engineer from Bengaluru.
I have been living with diabetes for more than 21 years. Like many people, I managed it with medicines and continued my daily responsibilities without paying much attention to what was happening internally. Over the years, diabetes quietly became a part of my life.
However, when my HbA1c reached 9.0 and I realized that medicines alone were not giving me the results I wanted, I knew I needed a different approach. Joining Freedom From Diabetes helped me regain control, rebuild healthy habits, and gave me renewed hope that one day I can become medicine-free and clear my GTT.

My Diabetes Story

My diabetes journey began after my second pregnancy.

Initially, it was gestational diabetes, and after delivery, things seemed normal for a while. For nearly one to two years, there were no major concerns.

But gradually, diabetes returned and became a permanent part of my life.

There was also a family history of diabetes. Both my parents developed diabetes later in life, around the age of sixty.

Since I was young, energetic, and working full-time while managing my household and children, I never felt diabetes was creating any major limitations.

I continued working, taking care of my family, and living an active life. Because there were no alarming symptoms, I did not fully realize how serious the condition could become over time.

How Was FFD Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?

A friend first told me about  Freedom From Diabetes. Around the same time,

I watched a video by Dr. B.M. Hegde, where he mentioned Dr. Pramod Tripathi and appreciated the work being done in diabetes reversal.

That sparked my interest and I attended the Discover Reversal Session.

I enrolled in the program and initially achieved good results. My HbA1c came down significantly and reached around 6.0.

Unfortunately, due to professional commitments, frequent travel, and a growing sense of overconfidence, I gradually stopped following the lifestyle practices that had helped me.

As a result, my HbA1c climbed back up and eventually touched 9.0.

That was the wake-up call I needed.  I knew I had to return to the program and recommit myself fully.

My Reversal Journey

When I rejoined FFD, my goal was simple to regain control over my diabetes and prevent it from progressing further.

The journey was not easy.

Shortly after rejoining, I experienced one of the most difficult phases of my life when I lost my husband in November.

The emotional upheaval affected every aspect of my routine. For several months, it became extremely difficult to stay consistent with diet, exercise, and self-care.

Despite going through such a challenging period, my health markers remained relatively stable.

My HbA1c improved and came down to 7.3.

Looking back, I genuinely feel that the medication support, monitoring, and guidance from FFD helped me prevent a much bigger setback during that difficult phase.

My medication requirements have also started reducing gradually. One diabetes medicine was reduced recently, and within a few weeks, the dosage was further cut by half.

These changes have encouraged me to stay committed because they show that progress is happening.

Several other health markers improved as well. My cholesterol levels, VLDL, and liver-related parameters moved towards healthier ranges.

These improvements reassured me that positive changes were happening internally, even when progress felt slow externally.

My weight when I joined the program was 69.8 kg.

Today, I maintain my weight around 64 kg, with my lowest recorded weight being close to 63 kg.

Recently, I underwent cataract surgery, which temporarily limited my exercise options. As a result, my focus has primarily been on walking.

Currently, I follow a daily walking routine of about 40 minutes as advised by my exercise expert. Once my recovery is complete, I plan to resume a more structured exercise program.

One major improvement in my lifestyle has been shifting towards two meals a day. This simple habit has helped me become more disciplined and has contributed positively to my blood sugar management.

Inner Transformation

Unlike many participants, I did not feel the need for psychological counselling because meditation has been part of my life for many years.

One practice that has stayed with me consistently is Shoonya Meditation, which I perform daily for around 12 minutes before lunch.

Even during difficult periods, meditation has helped me remain emotionally balanced and mentally steady.

Although there was a brief phase after my husband's passing when I disconnected from many healthy habits, I have gradually rebuilt my routine and returned to my meditation practice.

This has given me the emotional strength to continue moving forward.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, my focus is clear.

I want to bring my HbA1c into the normal range, completely eliminate my dependence on medicines, reduce abdominal fat, and eventually clear my GTT.

That goal motivates me every day.

What I appreciate most about Freedom From Diabetes is the continuous follow-up, structured guidance, and support system.

Even when I struggled to stay consistent, the team never stopped encouraging me to return to the path.

My journey is still ongoing, but I feel confident that I am moving in the right direction.

And next year, I hope to stand on the FFD stage and receive my GTT clearance certificate.
