Hello, I’m Partha Abhishek. I work in a public sector bank. My workday starts before 8 AM and ends after 9 PM. Between long commutes, job transfers, and non-stop deadlines, it was easy to lose track of my own health.
But life had a way of stopping me in my tracks. Back in 2017, while prepping for a small surgery, I was told during a routine check-up that my HbA1c was 9. I had diabetes.
No symptoms, no warning. Just like that, I found myself holding a lab report that would change everything.
From Diagnosis to Discipline
There’s no strong family history. My grandfather had diabetes, but neither of my parents do.
That made the diagnosis a little confusing, but also motivating. I knew I had to take responsibility.
I first joined Freedom From Diabetes (FFD) in 2020, after discovering Dr. Pramod Tripathi on YouTube.
The program worked for me back thenI lost weight, stopped my high-potency medicine, and felt in control.
But then came job transfers, tough rural postings, and COVID.
Habits slipped. Life took over. By 2023, I had to restart one diabetic medicine again.
Rejoining FFD: Round Two
In 2025, I decided to come back to FFDthis time with deeper commitment and understanding. Within 15–20 days, I was off diabetic medicine completely.
My HbA1c dropped to 6.5, and I lost about 6 kg, without ever stepping into a gym. All of this despite a 12+ hour daily schedule. If that’s not proof that lifestyle change works, I don’t know what is.
I’m still on two minor medications for cholesterol and triglycerides, one daily and one bi-weekly. But I know where I’m headed.
Mind Matters: Inner Transformation
That Actually Worked This time, what changed most wasn’t my food or activity. It was my mind. I worked with Dr. Paramita Chakraborty from the Inner Transformation (IT) team.
We bonded instantly maybe because we’re both Bengali, maybe because I finally felt heard.
My problem wasn’t laziness. It was overthinking. I carried the weight of every small issue; office, home, people, expectations.
She helped me realize: Not everything needs to sit on your shoulders. People are not always thinking about you. That simple truth gave me peace.
“The mind has been running one way for 20+ years. It won’t change overnight, but now I know I can redirect it.”
I still don’t meditate every day. But I do the FFD music-based meditation once or twice a week, and I’m actively correcting thought patterns. That’s my real win.
A Quiet Victory
Sometimes, I wish I had shared my success back in 2020, the first time I reversed. But life happened COVID impacted my family, responsibilities took over.
I’m glad I waited, though. This time, I’ve gained something deeper. FFD isn’t just about numbers. It’s about understanding yourself.
