My Diabetes Story

I have led a life dedicated to public service. However, amidst my professional responsibilities, I faced a personal health challenge—diabetes, diagnosed shortly after my maternity period.

Initially, I managed my sugar levels through yoga, exercise, and a disciplined diet. However, despite these efforts, my HbA1c levels started rising over the next two to three years, eventually leading me to begin medication.

At my peak, my HbA1c reached 10.0, though it had reduced to 8.4 just before I joined FFD.
 
My Father—a 90-year-old retired general surgeon who has managed his diabetes for over 60 years through a strict vegetarian diet and a positive, Philosophical attitude— Inspired me to rely more on natural methods and avoid insulin for as long as possible.

How was FFD introduced?

My introduction to Freedom from Diabetes came through my cousin, Mr. Sadanand, an FFD participant who had drastically reduced his weight. His transformation intrigued me, and a conversation with my physician brother-in-law—who had seen similar successes in his patients—encouraged me to join the program.

Reversal Story

As I began following FFD guidelines my sugars began falling in place which was good. My HbA1c levels improved from 8.4 to 6.7.
 
When I joined FFD, my weight was 59.6 kg. Within three to four months, I lost about 5.3 kilograms and reached 54.3 kg. Currently, I am around 55 kg, but I am determined to reach my target by staying active and sticking to a stricter diet.

I remain physically active throughout the day, frequently take the stairs, and often outpace younger colleagues—a fact that truly reflects my energy levels. Many of them tell me I don’t look anywhere near 60, and I take pride in that.
 
I have always been naturally athletic. Since childhood, I’ve played multiple sports like hockey and football, and I continue to maintain an active lifestyle.

My mental and emotional well-being also received a boost through FFD’s Inner Transformation sessions. Sessions by Kavita Modi Madam were especially impactful— She taught me the value of stress management, journaling, and letting go of mental burdens.
 
One story that stayed with me was about someone mistaking a bear in a flood for a log—clinging to it only leads to more suffering. That metaphor deeply resonated with me.

One of my most emotional moments came during Dr. Pramod Tripathi’s meditation session. I found myself in tears, releasing years of suppressed emotions through music and meditation.
 
Today, I proudly advocate for FFD. I’ve referred many of my colleagues and subordinates to the program.

My journey wouldn’t have been possible without the holistic support from FFD’s experts, tools like journaling and meditation, and the encouragement of my family and mentors. 
 
I regularly watch Dr. Malhar’s videos and apply small but effective habits—like walking extra or always taking the stairs—to stay active and healthy.
