My Diabetes Story
 

My journey began with gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Unlike most cases, my sugar levels never normalized, even a year after delivery.

Despite my family history being limited to post-50 diabetes, I was diagnosed much earlier.

For 2–3 years, I resisted insulin. I tried everything — strict diets, exercise regimens, multiple medications — but nothing worked consistently. Eventually, I had to start taking insulin.

Even then, I struggled. I tried all insulin combinations — 30/70, 50/50, 80/20 — nothing gave stability. Being in a demanding job, I couldn’t afford sugar crashes. But I had them anyway.

I’ve had episodes during meetings where I couldn’t even respond properly. That’s when I shifted to full insulin therapy, and later, to an insulin pump around 2016–17.

It helped — but only partially.

How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it? 

I heard about FFD and decided to join in November 2022. Honestly, I was hesitant at first — about the cost, my ability to stick to it, and whether I’d get the kind of attention I needed. But I took the leap. And I’m so glad I did.
