Hello, I'm Mahantesh...
I’m a software engineer from Bengaluru, and for most of my life, I’ve struggled with one thing; my weight. But that’s also what brought me to FFD. While I didn’t join because of diabetes, my journey through the Obesity Reversal Programme revealed something I hadn’t expected: I was pre-diabetic. That awareness changed everything.

Key Takeaways
  • Weight dropped from 133.1 kg to 101.7 kg
  • Fasting insulin halved from 35.64 to 17.42
  • HbA1c improved from 5.9 to 5.3
  • Thyroid levels improved from 5.4 to 1.4
  • Pre-diabetes reversed within months

My Weight Story: A Battle Since Childhood

I was always a big kid. At just 13 years old, I weighed 108 kg. Despite being active cycling, swimming, and playing badminton, my weight remained stubbornly high.

At my heaviest, I hit 134 kg. I tried everything: naturopathy, gym, crash diets, and lost weight multiple times.

But the gains would always return, faster than expected. One injury or break from routine and I’d gain 20 kg in three months.

I wasn’t driven by shame or external pressure. My core reason? I wanted to move faster, play better, and live lighter.

How I Found FFD

It all began with a casual gym recommendation. A fellow gym member told me about FFD. At first, I ignored it. But he kept nudging me.

One day, I watched a YouTube podcast by Dr. Pramod Tripathi and everything just… clicked.

For the first time, someone explained why my weight wouldn’t budge. Insulin resistance. Pigmentation. Uric acid. It all made sense.

I joined the Discover Reversal and Obesity sessions, and from there, there was no looking back.

Pre-Diabetes, Thyroid & Gout: The Underlying Issues

My HbA1c at the time of joining was 5.9 borderline. Fasting insulin was 35.64 a clear sign of insulin resistance.

I also had thyroid issues and suffered 3–4 gout attacks per year for 12 years. The pain in my ankles, wrists, and toes was unbearable at times.

After following the FFD protocols:

My HbA1c dropped to 5.3

  • Fasting insulin fell to 17.42
  • Thyroid levels normalized (now at 1.4)
  • Gout attacks have reduced significantly

My Diet & Exercise Transformation

Before FFD, my breakfast was the heaviest meal poha, idli, upma, and dosa. Now, I follow a two-meal plan, skipping breakfast altogether. That change alone had a massive impact.

I’ve followed the diet protocol 80%, though my exercise adherence is around 50% due to work and parenting.

I now:

  • Do yoga on weekdays
  • Go for long cardio on weekends
  • Swim and cycle alternatively (1 km swim or 15 km cycle rides)
  • Do occasional resistance band training

Fasting & Visible Changes

I’ve done the Fast for Freedom (FFF) twice. Weight loss per fast was around 3.5 kg, but what really changed was my energy and appearance.

People began noticing. My body looked visibly lighter and more toned. Even my creatinine levels, which once spiked, normalized in follow-up reports.

Inner Transformation & Emotional Eating

Yes, I used to munch a lot. Post joining, those cravings decreased. Learning that insulin resistance prevents food from converting to energy helped me understand why I was always hungry.

I did try journaling and meditation, but balancing them with work and my 6-year-old son has been tough.

I attended IT sessions with Mrs. Paramita, and they did help me reflect deeply, even if I couldn’t continue regularly.

Results That Keep Me Going
  • Weight reduced from 133.1 kg to 101.7 kg
  • Lowest recorded weight: 101.7 kg
  • HbA1c down to 5.3 (pre-diabetes reversed)
  • Fasting insulin halved
  • Thyroid better, uric acid under control
Yes, I still have weight to lose, but now, I know how to lose it, how to keep it off, and most importantly, how to correct course if I slip.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, I understand my body better. I know what food does to my weight. I know how to portion. I’m working towards muscle gain and stamina and I’m doing it for me.

I continue swimming, cycling, walking, and practicing yoga. I’m more in tune with my health than I’ve ever been.
