My Diabetes Story
My diabetes journey began almost 23 years ago when I developed gestational diabetes. After delivery, instead of resolving, it slowly transitioned into long-term diabetes.
I was on oral medications for many years, and in the last 10 years, I had to start insulin, reaching up to 20 units daily.

There is diabetes in my family. My father is diabetic so I always knew I had a higher risk. But the challenges still felt overwhelming.
Over the years, I experienced weight gain, skin issues, and the constant stress of managing a chronic condition while running a household.

Life felt heavy not just physically, but emotionally.
How FFD Was Introduced & What Made Me Choose It
A friend suggested Freedom From Diabetes, telling me how her mother-in-law became insulin-free. That gave me hope. I thought, “Let me try it too.” I joined with the intention to give myself a fair chance at better health.
Reversal Story
When I joined FFD, I was taking 20 units of insulin daily. To my surprise, I became completely insulin-free within just a month and a half.
My HbA1c improved from 7.4 to 6.5, and for the first time in years, I felt genuinely in control.
I also lost 7 kg, going from 72 to 64.5 kg, and have been able to maintain this weight consistently for months even during phases when I could not follow every part of the program.
Because of family responsibilities caring for my 90-year-old mother-in-law with dementia, and supporting my mother who has liver cirrhosis and recently suffered a hip fracture I could follow only about 50% of the program.
Yet the results have been strong and stable.
- Medication Reduction:
- Stopped Rybelsus completely
- Reduced Istamet from 2000 mg + 1000 mg per day to 1000 mg total per day
- My sugars remain stable, rarely crossing 180 on CGM.
FFD’s guidance, especially diet principles, helped me stay healthy during one of the most stressful phases of my life.
Athletic Identity
I couldn’t follow the structured exercise plans due to my responsibilities at home. But my husband and I started attending yoga sessions regularly for the last 3–4 months. Along with yoga, I walk whenever possible.
I feel that I haven’t even explored my athletic identity yet but I will, when life allows more space.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
Though I could follow only part of the program, I stayed consistent with what I could manage:
- Completely vegan
- Following the 25% rule
- No grain till lunch
- Regular yoga
- Consistent weight maintenance
If I had been able to follow all protocols, especially inner transformation sessions. I am confident I would have become fully medicine-free.
Despite everything, FFD has kept me healthy, mentally balanced, and stable while navigating an extremely demanding family situation.
