I’m Nishant Dixit from Thane, and I work as a PSU employee. My diabetes journey began post-COVID, in November 2020, during my brother’s wedding. I had been experiencing frequent urination at night, so I checked my blood sugar out of curiosity. My fasting sugar was 230 mg/dl, and post-meal it was 290 mg/dl. A lab test confirmed my HbA1c at 10.3 this was my official diabetes diagnosis.
Key Takeaways
- Insulin and all medications completely stopped in 1 month.
- Weight dropped from 67 kg to 61 kg
- HbA1c reduced from 10.3 to 5.7
- Cholesterol, SGPT, SGOT, and uric acid levels normalized
- Developed awareness about diet, processed foods, and sugar intake
My Story
I come from a family with a history of diabetes. My father is diabetic.
After diagnosis, I started insulin therapy (initially 11–16 units/day) along with oral medications, gradually increasing to 1000 mg/day of Metformin.
Despite medicines, I had challenges like high uric acid and elevated SGPT and SGOT.

How FFD Was Introduced to Me
I discovered Freedom From Diabetes (FFD) through Facebook and also from my relative, Prashant Sharma, who had successfully reversed his diabetes.
Inspired by his journey of around 10 kg weight loss and HbA1c reduction from 7.7 to 6.2 I decided to join FFD and take control of my health.

Reversal Story
After joining FFD, my transformation was remarkable:
- Timeline: Within 1 month, both insulin and oral medicines were completely stopped.
- Blood sugar: My current HbA1c is 5.7, fasting sugar around 110 mg/dl, post-meal around 130 mg/dl.
- Weight: Reduced from 67 kg to 61 kg over two months.
- Other health markers: SGPT dropped from 79.3 to 21.2, SGOT from 42.5 to 16, and cholesterol normalized.
Lifestyle & Dietary Changes
- I completely changed my diet under my dietitian’s guidance:
- Stopped eating 3–4 whole wheat chapatis daily; now follow Jowar roti and portion-controlled meals.
- Avoid processed foods and monitor sugar intake carefully.
- Even with frequent work travel, I maintain control and follow the plan consistently.
Although I haven’t tried the Fast for Freedom program due to my hectic schedule, I plan to explore it in the future.
Fitness & Athletic Identity
Previously not a gym-goer, I’ve started home workouts and now attend the gym regularly.
Gradually, I plan to develop my athletic identity further, integrating fitness as a permanent part of my lifestyle.

Inner Transformation
I haven’t attended one-on-one psychologist sessions yet but have benefited from online FFD resources on meditation and exercise.
This has helped me stay disciplined and aware of my mental health.

Overall Experience
I feel healthier, younger, and more confident. Friends and colleagues notice the change and often compliment me, saying I look 5 years younger.
Sharing my experience has inspired others in my network to start their own diabetes reversal journey.
