My Story
I developed diabetes in 2016 after a long phase of health complications. Years of D&Cs, hysterectomy, steroid use for allergies, and recurring infections left my body overwhelmed.
One day, a small boil on my finger led me to a hospital. The doctor insisted on checking my sugar before treatment. My random sugar came out at 550 mg/dL and HbA1c over 11.7.

This was a shock because six months earlier, all my tests were normal. Diabetes runs in my maternal side, but this sudden onset hit me hard.
My medicines gradually increased to four tablets a day, including Gluconorm and other supplements.

How FFD Was Introduced
A colleague who had tried FFD told me about the programme. Even though she discontinued due to practical challenges, she saw benefits in the first month.
This sparked my curiosity. I began following FFD videos on Facebook and then requested to speak with a few participants.
Two Pune-based alumni shared their experiences generously. Convinced, I enrolled in FFD’s online programme despite my busy schedule.

Reversal Story
I was determined to at least follow the diet. I meticulously attended the first few sessions, though later my college timings clashed with the live sessions.
I watched recordings and YouTube videos whenever possible.

Within the first month itself, most of my tablets were stopped. By the end of the second month, I was completely medicine-free. My HbA1c dropped from 11.7 to 6.4 and has stayed around that level.
This was a major milestone, considering my hectic lifestyle, post-hysterectomy issues, and emotional stress.
My knee swelling reduced significantly, and the persistent pain I had during gym workouts subsided.

Athletic Identity
I initially joined a nearby gym and showed my trainer the FFD exercise videos. Due to time constraints and knee issues, I shifted to walking.
Walking has always been my favourite activity. I listen to music while walking 4 km daily. Even if my post-dinner sugar rises to 170–175, a walk brings it down by 30–40 points.

I also briefly joined a dance class, but my schedule didn’t allow me to continue. Walking remains my consistent athletic identity.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
FFD taught me what to eat, when to eat, and how my body responds to food. I wore a CGM patch for 6–7 months to track patterns, and now I check sugars at least four times a week.
I couldn’t attend every session, but the support from my dietitian, doctor, and psychologist was invaluable.
Psychologist Paramita, who had faced a similar situation, helped me cope with 35-year-old trauma.
Even a few sessions gave me timely relief during my peaks of depression. I have also experimented with fasting. Before my hysterectomy, I had done water fasts.
Recently, I managed a 4-day water fast and plan to repeat it every 3 months. I haven’t yet tried the 9-day fasting protocol.

Today, even with a busy career and ongoing personal challenges, I remain medicine-free.
My family understands my diet now, making it my lifestyle. I plan to rejoin FFD more fully after retirement to experience its complete benefits.
