Hello Note
Hello, I’m Kiranpreet Sodhi, a retired principal now serving as the Director of my own school in Moga, Punjab. At 65, I never imagined I would be hitting the gym, lifting weights, and regaining my health but here I am, living proof that transformation is possible at any age.
Key Takeaways
- Pre-diabetic: HbA1c reduced from 6.8 to 5.7
- Cholesterol dropped from 237 to 194
- EGFR improved from 78 to 96
- Regained lost weight from 47 kg to over 50 kg
- Nails and numbness issues resolved
- Gym routine established at 65
My Story
My journey began when I started losing weight unexpectedly. On getting tested, my HbA1c came out to be 6.8 placing me in the pre-diabetic range.
I had no major family history of diabetes, except for my grandmother, but this diagnosis came as a wake-up call.
Alongside this, I was facing health issues; brittle nails, numbness in my forearms, and unintended weight loss (from 56 kg down to 47 kg). Cholesterol was high at 237, my kidney health (EGFR) was dropping, and my energy levels were low.
How FFD Was Introduced to Me
It was my cousin, Harmanjot Singh Sodhi from Canada, who suggested I join Freedom from Diabetes instead of starting medicines. His advice turned out to be life-changing.
Reversal Story
After joining FFD, I started following the program strictly smoothies with Moringa, curry leaves, tulsi, pudina, cinnamon, black salt, turmeric, and cold-pressed olive oil became a part of my routine.
I avoided palak because of high uric acid, and gradually added healthy proteins like eggs and tofu.
Here’s what changed
- HbA1c: 6.8 to lowest 5.7 (now 6.2 due to travel)
- Cholesterol: 237 to 194
- EGFR: 78 to 96 (back to normal)
- Nails healed completely
- Numbness gone
- Weight increased by 2.5 kg so far
- I still take BP medicine as needed, but other parameters have improved significantly.
Athletic Identity
One of my biggest achievements has been discovering my love for the gym.
At 65, I joined the gym and started working out with machines and dumbbells alongside youngsters.
Today, I go 3–4 days a week, enjoy every session, and feel stronger than ever.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
I follow the FFD dietary guidelines, continue my gym workouts, and have inspired people around me including my husband, who now follows the same protocols despite not being diabetic.
I share FFD with friends and gym mates because it has truly transformed my health and confidence.
I do not meditate much but remain active spiritually and keep a positive mindset. My goal now is to gradually reach 56 kg while maintaining my improved health markers.
