My Diabetes Story 

My journey began in 2013 after surgery. Pre-op I was not diabetic, but post-surgery tests showed elevated sugars.

Interestingly, I had already sensed something was wrong because I was constantly hungry. A self-done GTT confirmed diabetes.

My family history made it less surprising that my maternal grandfather and his siblings were severely diabetic. Though it skipped my mother’s generation, it caught up with mine.

Initially, I managed with alternative medicine for about 4 years, but eventually moved to allopathic medicines when sugar control became harder.

How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it?

I had been following FFD on Instagram for a long time but wasn’t sure if it was another fad diet.

The real turning point came in 2023, when I went on a long outstation international trip. The stress and disruption of routine pushed my HbA1c from 6.3 to 9.1 the highest I had ever recorded.

That’s when I knew I had to act decisively. I remembered FFD, explored it more seriously, and joined the program in December.

Athletic Identity

I’ve always been active swimming, cycling, running, and jogging for 45–60 minutes. But recently, I discovered a new side of myself.

My brother, a hiking enthusiast, took me along on four tough hikes in 15 days.

From 3.3 km to 6.2 km treks, often on rocky terrain, I completed them all with the encouragement of my family. This was a proud achievement and reinforced that with the right mindset, age and diabetes are no barriers.

Inner Transformation & Spiritual Practices 

I didn’t attend FFD’s dedicated Inner Transformation sessions, but I have been deeply spiritual for years. Puja, meditation, yoga, and de-stressing have always been part of my life.

I strongly believe these practices, along with discipline in diet and exercise, helped me remain resilient through health challenges and also manage my blood pressure, which runs in my family for generations.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, I feel lighter, healthier, and more confident. I continue to follow:
