My Diabetes Story

Diabetes entered my life through pregnancy.

At 29, during my first pregnancy, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to take insulin.

After delivery, my sugars stayed in the prediabetic range. I tried controlling things through diet, but I was not always consistent.

During my second pregnancy at 37, gestational diabetes came back. That was a turning point.

In fact, during early pregnancy, my HbA1c was around 7, which worried my endocrinologist enough to even discuss possible risks to the baby.

It was an emotionally disturbing time. Fortunately, with dietary changes, my HbA1c reduced to 6.5, and all reports related to my baby came back normal.

But after delivery, diabetes stayed.

I was started on multiple medications, and instead of improving, I noticed the medicine dosage only kept increasing.

That was when I realized this approach was simply managing symptoms not fixing the problem.

How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it?

While researching natural approaches for diabetes reversal, I came across Dr. Pramod Tripathi’s videos online.

At Discover Reversal Session what stood out to me was that the message felt logical, science-backed, and honest.

It did not feel like someone was trying to “sell” me something. It felt educational.

I also explored other programs, but they did not feel convincing to me.

At that time, I was still breastfeeding my child, so when I first inquired about FFD, I was advised to wait until I completed breastfeeding. I appreciated that honesty.

A year later, my sister Anamika who was also prediabetic suggested we join together. So both of us enrolled in the program in March.

That decision changed everything.

My Reversal Story

When I joined FFD, my HbA1c was around 6.1, despite being on multiple diabetes medications.

Within 2 months , all my sugar medications were stopped.

Even after stopping medication, my HbA1c remained stable at 6 initially, and later improved further to 5.4 without any medicines.

This was the biggest proof for me that my body was healing.

Beyond sugar numbers, several other health changes followed:
  • Cholesterol improved significantly
  • Fatty liver (Grade 2) improved dramatically
  • Energy levels increased
  • Knee pain reduced
  • Lethargy disappeared
Earlier, I was constantly trying to lose weight through excessive exercise, believing that more exercise meant more results.
  • FFD completely changed my understanding.
  • I learned that food quality, inflammation, stress, sleep, and mindset are equally important.
  • For the first time, I stopped “fighting” my body and started working with it.
  • Salads, smoothies, and mindful eating became a permanent part of my lifestyle.
  • Today, I genuinely cannot imagine a meal without salad.

My Fast for Freedom Experience

One of the most transformative parts of my journey was Fast for Freedom.
  • I participated in it three times.
  • The first time, I lost around 5 kg. Later rounds helped me lose additional weight as well.
  • Yes, it was challenging but the results made it worthwhile.

Fasting taught me an important lesson:
  • I can function without constantly depending on food.
  • Earlier, I believed diabetics should never fast. But this program completely changed that belief.
  • Now I understand the value of giving the body digestive rest.

My Athletic Identity

Before FFD, climbing stairs used to leave me exhausted.

Today, things are very different. I participate in marathons, feel more athletic, and can easily climb stairs without fatigue.

  • My knees no longer hurt the way they used to.
  • My body feels lighter, stronger, and far more capable.
  • I feel like I have regained physical confidence.

Inner Transformation Journey

I did attend a couple of sessions with Yati Ma’am, and found her techniques very valuable.

However, around the same time, I had already started a deep personal spiritual journey.

I now follow Kashmir Shaivism and spend 1–2 hours daily in meditation, self-inquiry, and spiritual study.

This practice has given me immense mental stability, emotional clarity, and inner calm.

For me, this became my personal path of inner transformation.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, I continue following the FFD principles while also working on maintaining my ideal weight.

I had dropped from 79 kg to 63 kg, though currently I am around 70 kg after some rebound eating.

I am now back on track, sugar-restricted, and working toward reaching my ideal weight again.

But more importantly, I now understand my body better than ever before.

FFD didn’t just help me reduce sugar.

It changed my relationship with food, health, exercise, and self-discipline.
