My Diabetes Story

I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2020 during the COVID period. There was no family history, so it came as a surprise.

I started experiencing symptoms like hypoglycemia and palpitations, which pushed me to get tested.

That’s when I discovered that my sugar levels were high.

At that time, my HbA1c was around 8, and I was put on medication (around 6 mg once daily).

How Was FFD Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?

Like many others, I was looking for a way to manage diabetes beyond just medication.

That’s when I came across Freedom From Diabetes and decided to give it a try.

The idea of reversing diabetes through lifestyle changes was something that strongly appealed to me.

My Reversal Story

The initial results were extremely encouraging. Within just 15 days of joining the program, I was able to stop my diabetes medicines.

My HbA1c dropped significantly from 8 to 5.4 within a short span.

This phase showed me what is possible when the body is supported correctly.

However, over time, things started changing.

Around June–July, my weight began to increase again, and my sugar levels also started rising.

By October, I had to restart medication.

The major reason was inconsistency. I realized that I was not able to follow the routine completely.

About 70–80% was followed, but the remaining gaps made a big difference.

There were also phases of emotional disturbance and work-related stress, which impacted my discipline.

Whenever I got external motivation or a push, I could get back on track.

Athletic Identity

I enjoy cycling and used to ride around 12–15 km on Sundays and 4 km on regular days.

This has been my preferred form of staying active, although consistency in exercise also fluctuated during different phases of my journey.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, I am more aware than ever that diabetes management is not about short-term results, it is about long-term consistency.

Even though I experienced a relapse, the knowledge and experience I gained through FFD remain with me.

I understand what works for my body and what needs to be done to regain control.

The key gap I identified is not information but consistency, emotional balance, and discipline.

This journey has taught me that success is not just about achieving results once, but about sustaining them over time.

Key Quote
