My diabetes story

As fate would have it, one good practice I followed was to have regular checkups, and thank goodness for that! During a routine exam in April 2022, my doctor disclosed the news that I had diabetes.

The news was unpleasant; after all, none of my parents have diabetes but some of my siblings do suffer from it. And speaking of hearts - just three years ago in 2019 - I underwent a stent placement for a cardiac issue.

Who knew what other surprises lay lurking within me? It's both scary and exciting to think about how lucky we are to be able to catch these things early with regular checkups - even if they unveil something unexpected like diabetes.
