My Diabetes Story

My diabetes journey began nearly a decade ago. I was aware of being pre-diabetic for 7–8 years and tried managing it with physical activity.

But a combination of emotional stress particularly around my wife’s health and surgeries caused my discipline to slip.

Routine fatigue pushed me to get checked. That’s when I learned my HbA1c was 10.5.

My family history of diabetes (father, mother, grandmother) made things feel even more serious.

Then I started taking Diabetic medicines and was able to improve my HbA1c to 7.5.

But I was still worried on managing diabetes and always pondered if there was a way reverse the condition!

How FFD Entered My Life

Amidst the stress, I came across Freedom From Diabetes, referred by a close friend of mine, and joined the program hoping for a structured and sustainable reversal plan.

At the time, I was on Metformin twice daily.

Reversal Journey

The results were swift:
  • First week: Morning Metformin stopped
  • By week 3: Evening dose also stopped
  • End of 1st month: Fully medicine-free for diabetes
  • Today, I still take half a BP tablet, but I’m optimistic I’ll taper/stop that soon too.
My HbA1c had come down to 7.5 even before FFD, and now my current Hba1c is 5.8, which means am very close to "Normal" tag!

I haven’t yet started full fasting or the FFF protocol. I followed a 1–1.5 meal pattern and tried juice fasting a few times. My energy has improved and I feel much lighter. My body has become much flexible due to yoga and fat loss.

Inner Transformation & Wellness

I’ve practiced yoga and meditation for 20 years, and they continue to be anchors in my daily life. Emotional wellness has been key especially during tough times.

While I haven’t formally joined the Inner Transformation sessions yet, my mental balance owes much to my meditation routine.

Family Support & Daily Struggles

Following FFD hasn’t been easy for my family, especially my wife who also manages her own health issues. Preparing separate meals often creates fatigue and friction at home.

We’ve had moments like a school PTM day where we returned late, and she still cooked from scratch that highlighted the emotional and physical sacrifices behind this journey.

But I’m grateful. We’re pushing forward together, one day at a time.

Athletic Identity & Future Goals

I’ve always actively played cricket, badminton, karate, and kung-fu in my youth. While I’ve not yet resumed those, I still consider movement and energy a core part of who I am.
Now, my goal is to:
  • Clear the Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT)
  • Start the Fast For Freedom (FFF)
  • Reclaim my athletic side with regular physical activity
