My Diabetes Story
My journey with health challenges began with thyroid dysfunction, followed by diabetes in September 2010. I later developed hypertension and was prescribed Stamlo 2.5.Though I have a family history of diabetes (my mother had it mildly), I tried managing my condition through dieting on my own.
However, I realized that personal efforts alone weren’t enough scientific, structured guidance was needed.

Interestingly, my HbA1c had reached 9.1 only once in 2009, after I underwent a tooth extraction. That was an isolated spike. When I joined FFD in 2024, my HbA1c was at 7.8.
How FFD Came into My Life
I first heard about FFD in 2019 through Facebook and attended Dr. Tripathi’s live session in Powai. Blood Pressure: Stopped Stamlo 2.5 within a month of joining FFD. Thyroid: Was on Thyronorm 75 mcg. With yoga, it is reduced to 62.5 mcg. My TSH is now 2.28.Diabetes: Though I temporarily stopped medication earlier, fasting sugar remained above 100. I’ve now added cinnamon water at night and am aiming to bring HbA1c to 6.2. My latest HbA1c is 6.9.

Dietary Transformation with FFD
FFD gave structure and clarity to what I already knew. Here’s what changed:
- Stopped all milk and milk tea
- Added good fats like avocado, pumpkin seeds, til, and coconut (in moderation)
- Switched to homemade almond, cashew, and coconut milks
- No added sugar; used stevia only once
- Stopped coconut water, now use coconut rightly and effectively
Fitness & Athletic Identity
Yoga is my lifelong fitness anchorI practise it daily from 6:30 to 7:15 AM.
Thanks to FFD, I also joined a gym for the first time! I now enjoy 3 gym sessions per week and can do a leg press of 40 kg almost my own body weight.
Yoga remains my core identity, but gym workouts have energized me even more.
