Hello Note
Hello, I’m Mrs. Kalaichelvi Prakasam, a retired English teacher from Coimbatore. I lived with diabetes for 23 years. At 72, I can finally say I am off insulin, living freely, and feeling stronger than ever, thanks to FFD.

Key Takeaways
  • Off insulin within 3 months of joining FFD
  • HbA1c dropped from 8 to 6.0
  • Creatinine reduced from 4.9 to 3.03
  • Weight: Lost 5 kg (from 56 to 51 kg, mostly due to kidney issues)

My Diabetes Story

I was diagnosed in 2002 during a routine check-up. There were no symptoms, but with both my parents being diabetic, I knew the risks.

For years, I managed with lifestyle changes and low-dose insulin just 2 to 3 units daily, sometimes even less.

But diabetes doesn’t stay quiet. In 2023, after ignoring a urinary infection, I had to be hospitalized for 20 days.

The infection impacted my kidneys, leading to high creatinine and a long recovery. That health scare made me realise I needed a better, more holistic approach.

How FFD Was Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?

I came across Freedom from Diabetes and joined their Holistic Transformation Program (HTP) in September 2023.

A few months later, I attended their in-person Trans-Residential Program (TRP) in Pune and that was a turning point.

Compared to the earlier strict program I’d tried, FFD’s approach felt realistic and doable. I could eat balanced meals, salads, brown rice, vegetables and still see results.

Reversal Story

Before FFD, I was on insulin daily. After TRP, I came off insulin completely.

My HbA1c is now stable at 6.0, and I only take a half tablet of diabetes medicine occasionally during weddings or if I’ve had a heavy meal.

My kidney reports have also improved. Creatinine has reduced from a high of 4.9 to 3.03.

I’ve also been taking reinjections to improve my haemoglobin, which had dropped to 8.5, and that’s helping me regain energy.

Athletic Identity

I may not call myself an athlete, but I’m highly active. I go to the gym with my daughter, where I use the rowing machine, treadmill, elliptical, and cycle for 15 minutes each.

I also do Surya Namaskars and climb stairs daily. Physical activity keeps me going no matter the age.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

I feel happy. I feel light. I feel free. I practice Sambhavi Mahamudra (learned from Isha Yoga), visit temples regularly, and stay spiritually grounded.

I do get tempted by food sometimes, especially when living with family but I’m conscious and try to balance things out.

I know that living alone would make it easier to stick to the plan, but I’m managing.

Key Quote

"Even at 72, I reversed diabetes. I feel happy. I did the right thing. FFD is totally worth it. Go for it."
