My Health Story

My health concerns started years ago not because of symptoms, but because of my family history. With both diabetes and thyroid issues running in the family, I knew I had to stay vigilant.

Regular testing revealed that I was pre-diabetic, with an HbA1c around 6.5.

I also had borderline hypertension in 2005 and have been on thyroid medication (Thyronorm 37.5 mcg on alternate days).

But despite my efforts, I often felt lost and confused trying various diets, workouts, and routines that didn’t bring results.

How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it?

My first brush with FFD was before COVID in Bangalore. But I left after 2–3 months. It just didn’t click back then. In 2023, a friend encouraged me to give it another shot.

This time, I joined Pune’s VIP Batch 109 and was guided by Dr. Malhar, Dr. Suruchi, and Dr. Shubhankar.

From the start, it felt different. Dr. Malhar gave me realistic, compassionate advice, and the team gave me structure, something I deeply needed.

Reversal Story

Within a few months, my HbA1c dropped from 6.5 to 5.8. While a recent spike to 5.9 happened (thanks to a few indulgent mangoes!), I’ve stayed comfortably out of the pre-diabetic zone.

I completed the Fast For Freedom (FFF) three times, and now fast comfortably, something I once feared.

Portion control, mindful eating, and understanding when and how much to eat helped me release guilt around food. For the first time, I don’t feel like I’m dietingI feel like I’m healing.

Athletic Identity

Earlier, I couldn’t stick to any consistent form of exercise. But in April 2024, I joined a gym for the first time in my life at 66!

Thanks to encouragement from Dr. Shubhankar, I now enjoy regular strength and cardio workouts.

My weight loss journey hasn’t been dramatic in kilos but I’ve dropped a full clothing size, and people around me notice the glow, the confidence, and the energy.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

I practice meditation, pranayama, and yoga daily. While I’ve always been spiritual, FFD gave me more structure and purpose. I no longer chase fadsI follow clarity.
