My Diabetes Story
I never imagined that a routine health check-up would completely change my life. I had no symptoms, no family history of diabetes—nothing to hint at what was coming. So when I saw my HbA1c was a shocking 13.5, It felt like a bolt from the blue.
“It was just a random test. I felt perfectly normal—No fatigue, No excessive thirst, Nothing,” I remember thinking.
The initial shock was real, but I didn’t let it defeat me. I gathered my strength and took charge of my health. With sheer willpower and self-discipline, I brought my HbA1c down to 9.0 in just six months. But deep down, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. I needed expert guidance to take the next step.
How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it?
My turning point came when I discovered Freedom From Diabetes (FFD) through World of Smarts and the teachings of Dr. B.M. Hegde. I have always admired him, so when I heard him speak about FFD, I felt inspired and hopeful. Without hesitation, I joined FFD's annual program HTP in May 2024.
Reversal Story
The FFD team performed a detailed study of my case and designed a tailor-made plan. As I began following it, positive results started flowing in.
My fasting sugar, which used to be around 250 mg/dL, has dropped significantly to 150 mg/dL, and my HbA1c now stands at a healthy 5.7.
I joined FFD hoping it would help me reduce my sugar levels—and it truly worked.
Interestingly, my journey also brought a shift in body weight—from 46.6 kg when I joined to a healthier 51 kg now. Though I’ve always fluctuated between 45 to 53 kg over the years, This recent gain has placed me in a better BMI range. I didn’t think much of it at first, but FFD experts helped me understand the importance of maintaining a healthy BMI.
While I haven’t gone deep into the inner transformation sessions, I did have one conversation with a psychologist, and I began practicing breathing exercises, which helped calm my mind. I also started going to yoga classes to support my physical well-being. I don’t consider myself a yoga person, but I show up regularly just to stay fit.
This journey has been one of quiet strength, self-awareness, and resilience. From a diagnosis that came out of nowhere to embracing a confident and healthy lifestyle, I have come a long way. With FFD’s guidance and my commitment, I now know that diabetes doesn’t have to define me—it’s just the beginning of a better, healthier life.
