My Story
For years, I struggled with obesity-related problems. Severe leg pain, cramps, and general weakness made walking and performing daily activities difficult.
I also had replacement surgeries for both legs, which further limited my physical activity. Traveling abroad and other life circumstances made consistent dieting challenging, and my weight often fluctuated.
Despite these difficulties, I wanted to become healthier and regain some energy and independence.
How FFD Was Introduced
My children told me about FFD and encouraged me to join. Their belief in the programme motivated me to take the step toward structured guidance and support for weight management and overall health.
Reversal Story
Since joining FFD, I have seen gradual but meaningful improvements.
My weight has reduced from 87 kg to around 80 kg, my uric acid levels have dropped, and my sugar levels, which were pre-diabetic at ~5.5, are now in the normal range.
Though progress has been slow at times due to leg pain, travel, and occasional lapses, I feel more active and capable than before.
Practicing yoga for 30–40 minutes, sometimes extending to 3–4 hours, has improved my flexibility and reduced pain.
I also follow a healthier diet, including morning smoothies, salads, and completely avoiding tea and milk.
Fasting Experience
I practice juice fasting once a week, typically on Sundays, and follow regular fasting guidelines recommended by my dietitian.
While I haven’t participated in the Fast for Freedom (9-day fasting programme), these fasting practices have helped me maintain weight and develop discipline.
During travel, fasting routines were disrupted, but I plan to restart them once my schedule stabilizes.
Athletic Identity
Though I haven’t tried weight training, yoga has become an important part of my daily routine. Over time, I have gained confidence in my ability to move better, stay active, and manage pain more effectively.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
Following about 80% of the FFD programme, I feel healthier, more energetic, and less restricted by pain.
Despite challenges with leg cramps, weakness, and travel, FFD has equipped me with the tools to adopt a structured, healthier lifestyle.
