My Diabetes Story
My diagnosis happened around 2015 after a severe inflammatory episode in my foot. The pain was unbearable. I couldn’t walk.
X-rays showed nothing, but my HbA1c revealed the truth I was diabetic.
X-rays showed nothing, but my HbA1c revealed the truth I was diabetic.
There was a strong family history. Both my parents were diabetic and hypertensive, and both battled cancer.
I knew I had to be vigilant.
I knew I had to be vigilant.
But what followed was far more intense than diabetes alone.
Inflammation spread. Blood pressure fluctuated dangerously. I became wheelchair-bound for nearly nine months.
I was dependent on caregivers. For someone who had always been physically expressive, it felt like imprisonment inside my own body.

It was not just physical pain, it was emotional testing.
How I Found FFD
I came to know about FFD through two references in Delhi, including a senior psychologist friend.
But what made me join was not just information, it was connection.
When I first spoke to Dr. Pramod, there was an immediate trust. An energy exchange. I felt heard. I felt understood.
That faith made me commit.

My Reversal & Healing Journey
When I joined, I was on multiple medications; anti-inflammatories, painkillers, BP medicines, and metformin.
- Within 3 months, I became medicine-free.
- Within 11 months:
- HbA1c reduced from 7.3 to 5.5
- Weight dropped from 65 kg to 52 kg
- I cleared my GTT not once, but 6 times over the years.
- But life continued to test me.
- Cancer in 2020
- Meniscus tear in 2023
- Severe arthritis
- Partial paralysis with a brain clot
- Temporary hearing loss
- Even during paralysis, I refused to surrender.
If I couldn’t move my legs, I moved my hands. If not hands, I used resistance bands.
I worked with baby steps. I faced fear, ego, jealousy, rejection, abandonment, criticism, resentment not by side-stepping them, but by working through them.
I worked with baby steps. I faced fear, ego, jealousy, rejection, abandonment, criticism, resentment not by side-stepping them, but by working through them.
By confronting my shadows directly, I experienced a shift on four planes; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
With determination, resilience, discipline, consistency, spiritual grounding, and the expert guidance of the FFD community, my connection with myself deepened.
Transformation was not just metabolic. It was existential.
Athletic Identity
I am fundamentally a Kathak dancer and movement is my way of living fully.
My routine today includes yoga with strength asanas like sarvaang asana, Kathak and other dance forms, international aerobics training, focused strength training for muscle building, and regular physiotherapy.
I also embrace adventure sports like rock climbing, parasailing, and zip lining.

What once felt impossible is now my reality;
- A 21 km Half Marathon Silver Medalist at Delhi University,
- 3 10K runs in Pune,
- A 5K marathon in September 2025 after paralysis,
- Skydiving from 1800 feet post-cancer.
For me, movement is not exercise. It is a celebration. It is reclaiming life.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
I live with structure, but not fear. I maintain discipline in food, exercise, meditation, and emotional hygiene.
Meditation has been my anchor. During my paralysis phase, my BP would drop almost 30 points within minutes of meditating.

The greatest lesson has been equanimity staying balanced regardless of circumstances.
My father, an army man, would always say, “This phase shall pass.” I carry that strength within me.
From wheelchair to half marathons. From paralysis to skydiving. From medication dependence to metabolic freedom. The journey inward made the journey outward possible.
