Hello Note
I am Dr. Ajit Narayan Hazari, a surgeon from Sambhajinagar. I was diagnosed with diabetes 15 years ago, during a routine annual health check-up.
Being a doctor myself, I was always aware of the condition but I wanted to go beyond only managing numbers with medicines.

Key Takeaways
  • Reduced HbA1c from 6.7 to 5.4 in 10 month
  • Became medicine-free in 1 month
  • Weight: 71 kg to 62.5 (currently stable at 64–65 kg) in 3 month
  • Significant improvement in strength, endurance, and flexibility
  • Improved liver and lipid markers
  • Active with Long Distance Running (1.5 km to 6.5 km)
  • Built a strong, sustainable athletic identity

My Diabetes Story

My diabetes was detected incidentally during an annual check-up. I did not have any symptoms at the time, and even after diagnosis, I remained largely asymptomatic.

However, with a family history of diabetes, I knew that simply continuing medicines without deeper lifestyle correction was not the long-term solution I wanted.

How Was FFD Introduced & Why I Chose It

Freedom From Diabetes was already familiar to my family. My sister had completed the program a few years ago, and my wife had done it earlier and repeated it again this year.

When she decided to repeat the program, I joined along with her.

My intention was clear; I wanted to gain better control over diabetes through understanding, lifestyle, and self-regulation, not only through medication.

My Reversal Story

At the time of joining Freedom From Diabetes, my HbA1c was around 6.7, and I was taking Metformin 1000 mg daily.

With consistent adherence to the program, my HbA1c gradually reduced to 5.4, and by March 2025, I was able to stop diabetes medication completely.

Alongside this, my weight came down from 71 kg to around 62.5 kg, and over time it stabilized naturally between 64 kg.

Importantly, this entire transformation happened without any prolonged fasting. I did not follow fasting protocols during the program.

Beyond blood sugar control, I experienced several meaningful physical and health improvements.

My back pain reduced significantly, my flexibility improved, and with focused strength training in the last two months, I felt a clear increase in overall strength.

My resting pulse rate dropped from 65–70 to around 50–56, reflecting better cardiovascular fitness.

Blood reports also showed positive internal changes, with the SGPT/SGOT ratio improving from 1.8 to 0.89, and lipid markers, including LDL and the TG/HDL ratio, showing healthy improvements.

Athletic Identity

Running has become my clear athletic identity.
  • Earlier, I could run 1.5 km at a stretch
  • Now, I comfortably run 6.5 km
  • Push-ups improved from 5–6 per set to 18–20 per set, across multiple sets
Strength training has made my body feel stronger, more stable, and resilient.

Inner Work & Mental Framework

While I did not participate in formal Inner Transformation sessions, inner work has been a long-standing part of my life.

I am an Art of Living teacher and have been practicing Sudarshan Kriya, meditation, and breathing techniques for nearly 30 years.

These practices give me:
  • Deep relaxation
  • Mental clarity
  • Sustained energy
  • Emotional balance
They help me remain an observer of situations rather than getting overwhelmed by something that has been invaluable both personally and professionally.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

Today, diabetes no longer feels like something I am “fighting.”

FFD helped me develop:
  • A rational, balanced understanding of diabetes
  • Patience during challenging phases like travel, social gatherings, and eating out
  • Long-term thinking instead of short-term reactions
The doctor–dietitian–exercise expert handholding made a crucial difference.

Over time, the program also sparked curiosity about how the body works, how habits form, and how sustainable change is built.
