Key Takeaways
- HbA1c improved
- Weight loss 5 kg
- Exceptional emotional support
My Diabetes Story
My battle with diabetes began not with physical symptoms or family history, but with a deeply emotional and traumatic event: my mother's sudden passing.
Her unexpected loss plunged me into intense shock and depression. It was during this emotionally challenging time that I received a dual diagnosis: pre-diabetes and high cholesterol levels.
Before her death, I had no history or symptoms of either condition. The emotional shock, however, triggered their onset.
Notably, I have no family history of diabetes. Fortunately, despite the diagnosis, I didn't face any major health complications typically associated with diabetes.
How did FFD happen?
I learned about Freedom From Diabetes (FFD) from friends in Nagpur. I joined not primarily for diabetes, but to find something meaningful to cope with my grief and depression.
My main focus was on managing my depression and cholesterol, as I felt my diabetes was relatively manageable with a regulated lifestyle.
Reversal Story
My HbA1c which was 6.2 improved to 5.6 although all this happened under the influence of medicine. My weight loss from 71.5 kg down to 66.5 kg has been good.
I have high praise for the consultant psychologist Yati Shah at FFD. She's incredibly perceptive and emotionally intelligent, truly knowing how to read between the lines.
Yati Shah offered subtle yet effective suggestions that helped me process my emotions. Her support was crucial for my emotional recovery and mental wellness, and I am deeply grateful to her.
Though I am a little unhappy about the follow-up and communication, I must say Dr. Gopinath Karpe my assigned doctor did a good job.
His punctuality, efficiency, and systematic communication has been worth appreciating.
FFD has the right foundation and that is why I have recommended it to two more girls who have joined.
