My Diabetes Story

My diabetes was detected gradually during routine annual medical checkups while I was still working.

The sugar levels were increasing slowly, so I had started taking low-dose diabetes medication.

At the same time, several other health markers were also becoming concerning. My:
  • Cholesterol levels were increasing
  • Creatinine had reached around 1.7–1.8
  • Blood pressure was not under proper control
  • Weight had increased significantly
Most importantly, I had developed severe sleep apnea. I used to feel heavy, tired, and uncomfortable while walking or climbing stairs.

Even moderate physical activity would leave me gasping.

At that point, I knew I needed a sustainable lifestyle-based solution rather than just increasing medicines.

How was FFD introduced and what made me choose it?

My wife reached out to our friend from our apartment complex and introduced us to Freedom From Diabetes.

We had seen him lose a remarkable amount of weight and transform his overall health. That made us curious about the program.

Around the same time, I was actively searching for a structured and sustainable way to reduce weight and improve my health.

Reversal Story

When I joined FFD, my HbA1c was around 8.0.

Within just one month, I was able to stop my diabetes medication.

Over time, my HbA1c gradually improved to around 5.5. One of the biggest transformations was my weight loss journey.

I reduced my weight from around 74 kg to nearly 66 kg, losing almost 8 kg.

This weight loss dramatically improved my sleep apnea and less snoring.

Earlier, climbing stairs or walking long distances would leave me breathless.

Today, I comfortably walked 5–6 km within an hour without gasping.

The transformation gave me a completely different level of confidence and physical freedom.

Athletic Identity

I have always enjoyed sports and staying active.

 
Even before joining FFD, I loved games and athletics.

But after my transformation, physical activity became an even bigger part of my daily lifestyle.

Today, I regularly:

In fact, after our transformation, my wife and I travelled to Australia for two months and comfortably walked nearly 10 km daily during the trip.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

The biggest change FFD brought into my life was awareness and discipline.
