My Diabetes Story
Around 3–4 years ago, I started facing excessive menstrual bleeding issues.

PCOD was already present, and later I also realized that many symptoms I was experiencing like fatigue and weakness were not only due to my orthopedic issues but also connected to diabetes.
I also have a family history of diabetes. My mother has been diabetic for over 20 years, so somewhere I knew I had a higher risk.
Apart from diabetes, I was already dealing with osteoarthritis and symptoms similar to rheumatoid arthritis, though my tests were negative.

How Was FFD Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?

My Reversal Story
When I joined FFD, my HbA1c was 6.8, and now it has improved to 5.8.
I was taking two diabetes tablets daily before joining.
One medicine was stopped quite quickly after joining the program, while the second was reduced significantly.

Though I could not fully continue exercise due to joint pain and orthopedic issues, I still managed to lose 6 kg, going from 58 kg to 52 kg, largely through dietary changes alone.
Some of my biggest improvements included:

One of the biggest learnings for me was that diabetes management is not just about “avoiding sugar.”
FFD helped break many myths for me especially around breakfast, snacking, packaged foods, and reading nutrition labels.
As a vegetarian and rice lover, I especially appreciated learning hacks and strategies to still enjoy my favorite foods mindfully.

Athletic Identity
Initially, during the first 3 months, I followed the program very sincerely and practiced Surya Namaskar regularly.
However, later due to work stress, professional commitments, Diwali disruptions, and ongoing joint pain, consistency became difficult.
Because of ankle pain, foot pain, osteoarthritis, and RA-like symptoms, walking and running are not easy for me.
I now believe my long-term athletic identity may be strength-based exercises or gym-based activity suited to my physical limitations.
Inner Transformation & Emotional Growth
The Inner Transformation sessions with Paramita Ma’am were one of the most meaningful parts of my journey.
At that point in my life, I really needed emotional support, and her sessions came as a blessing.
One activity she gave me was to write down 20 qualities about myself.

Today, I am far more aware of what I eat, what I buy, and how food affects my body.

- Greater awareness around thyroid-supportive eating
