My Diabetes Story

My diabetes was diagnosed around 2004–2005, almost by chance.

I had fallen sick and underwent routine blood tests in Delhi, where diabetes showed up unexpectedly.

Initially, I didn’t recall clear symptoms.

But after diagnosis, I became aware of constant fatigue, excessive thirst, and low energy classic signs that I had unknowingly been living with.

Diabetes also ran in my family. My father and elder brother were both diabetic, so somewhere I knew this could eventually come my way.

Professional Life & Lifestyle

I am a Chartered Accountant working with an MNC based out of Pune. Before this, I spent nearly 20–30 years in Delhi NCR.

My workdays are long, often 12 hours including a commute which made health management difficult for years.

How Was FFD Introduced and Why I Chose It

Last year, while traveling from Pune to Delhi, I was watching a video by Dr. Pramod Tripathi.

I regularly follow his talks, and during that session, he mentioned the Freedom From Diabetes program.

That sparked my curiosity. I attended an introduction session with Dr. Komal, and something clicked. Each time I visited my regular doctor, the number of medicines only kept increasing.

I also began feeling that prolonged medication might be harming my body.

That’s when I decided to give FFD a serious try.

Reversal Journey

When I joined FFD, my medicine load was very high, 1000 mg Metformin twice daily, along with glimepiride and several other tablets, adding up to over 10 pills a day.

Once I committed fully, especially during the first 2–3 months, I followed the protocol very strictly.

Under the guidance of Dr. Vaishali, my medicines were tapered in a structured and safe manner.

Within 5–6 months, all diabetes medicines were stopped. I have now been medicine-free for over three months.

My HbA1c has remained around 6.9 for the last few months. The real shift is this earlier, this number was achieved with medicines.

Today, it is without any medicine. For me, that itself is a big win.

I weighed around 73 kg when I joined and currently weigh about 68.5 kg. I did not want excessive weight loss, and thankfully the reduction has been well controlled.

The biggest change has been in my energy levels. I feel more active, more alert, and far more mindful about what I eat, how much I eat, and how I exercise.

The program has been an eye-opener not just medically, but as a complete lifestyle transformation.

Fast for Freedom & Inner Transformation

Due to my hectic office schedule, I could not fully complete the 9-Day Fast for Freedom, though I genuinely want to do it.

I am planning to attempt it again soon.

I haven’t attended dedicated inner transformation sessions because of time constraints, but I do practice self-meditation before sleep and in the mornings, which helps me stay calm and centered.

Athletic Identity

I haven’t formally rediscovered my athletic identity yet.

However, during my school years at a boarding school, I was extremely active playing hockey, football, badminton, and other sports.

Work pressure made me drift away from it, but I do plan to reconnect with physical activity as my schedule eases.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

FFD made me disciplined. The doctors, dieticians, and exercise experts constantly follow up and push you toward your goals.

That accountability made all the difference.

Today, I enjoy the process of taking care of my health.
