Hello,
I am Rashmi Rajan Agrawal from Mumbai. I joined Freedom from Diabetes not as a diabetic, but as a pre-diabetic with HbA1c in the range of 6.3–6.4. Today, my HbA1c is down to 6.1, my weight is 9 kg lighter, my body is free from inflammation and water retention, and my energy levels are at an all-time high.
Key Takeaways
- Pre-diabetes controlled: HbA1c from 6.3–6.4 to 6.1
- Weight reduced from 84 kg to 75 kg (loss of 9 kg)
- Chronic inflammation & water retention resolved
- Cholesterol improved from 209 to 168
- LDL reduced from 143 to 89.6; Non-HDL from 155.1 to 115
- Blood pressure now stable at 130–140 mmHg
My Story
Before joining FFD, I was struggling with weight gain, excessive water retention, and inflammation that made me appear swollen.
My uric acid was high, my digestion was poor, and my energy was low. These issues began after menopause, and over time, they made me lethargic and uninterested in physical activities.
Even though I was only pre-diabetic, I knew my health needed attention especially since both my parents developed diabetes after age 60.
How FFD Entered My Life
My husband first heard about FFD from two friends who highly recommended it. He told me he wanted to join but insisted we do it together.
We attended the 2-hour DRS online lecture, and by the end, we were convinced this was the right step.

My Journey
I joined FFD at 84 kg, aiming primarily to lose weight. I followed the programme about 80% not perfect, but committed.
The transformation was still remarkable: my weight dropped to 75 kg, but more importantly, the inflammation and water retention vanished, making me look and feel leaner.
Eliminating curd from my diet was a game-changer. My digestion improved, inflammation subsided, and my overall well-being soared.
The Fast for Freedom challenges were tough but manageable. I believe fasting is all about willpower once you decide to do it, you just do it.
Support & Lifestyle Shift
The support from the FFD team was constant and motivating. My cholesterol improved significantly, my BP stabilised, and the afternoon lethargy disappeared.
Friends and family began complimenting my transformation, which boosted my confidence further.
I discovered my athletic identity yoga and dancing and now practice them regularly. I even started gymming, something I disliked before.
Now, I work out with or without a trainer. I’ve also set new fitness goals, like trekking, with Everest Base Camp on my wishlist.
