My Diabetes Story
My diabetes was diagnosed almost accidentally. My sister, during one of her visits to India, insisted that I get my blood tests done.
When the reports came, my HbA1c was around 12.5–12.6.
I did have a strong family history of diabetes with my father, grandmother, and aunts but I never expected it to hit me this hard.
Physically, I was quite active. I played badminton, squash, cricket, and stayed sporty.
But I noticed two worrying signs; unexplained weight loss and excessive thirst at night.
People even started asking if I was unwell, which made me realize something was wrong.
How Was FFD Introduced and Why I Chose It
I first heard about Freedom From Diabetes through my aunt’s family in Pune.
Her husband, Mr.Krishn Kumar, had followed Dr. Pramod Tripathi’s protocol and successfully brought his diabetes under control after completing the one-year program.
Later, my father also shared Dr. Tripathi’s two-hour Discover Reversal Session link with me.
What struck me was the genuineness of the approach. It wasn’t fear-based or medicine-heavy; it made sense.
After watching the session and seeing real results within my own family, I registered immediately.
Reversal Journey
After joining FFD, I brought my HbA1c down from 12.6 to 6.6.
However, the last couple of years were extremely challenging personally. I lost my mother, then my father suffered a brain stroke, and I lost him as well a few months later.
During this phase, consistency became difficult, and my HbA1c went up slightly to around 7.5.
Now that life has stabilized, I have restarted my routine with renewed focus.
Physically and mentally, I already feel better, and I am confident my numbers will reflect that soon.
Weight, Muscle & Physical Strength
Before diabetes, my healthy weight was around 75–76 kg. Due to diabetes and stress, I dropped to 65 kg, losing significant muscle mass.
When I joined FFD, my goal was not just sugar control but healthy weight and muscle regain.
By following the nutrition plan, gym workouts, and guidance, I have brought my weight back to 71 kg. My target now is to gain another 3–4 kg in a healthy way.
Athletic Identity
I discovered my athletic identity through FFD. I am primarily a gym-goer, and over time, I also started trekking.
I have completed multiple treks with FFD groups and PCMC communities.
Trekking helped me reconnect with my body and enjoy movement again, especially after a long emotional break.
Inner Transformation & Emotional Healing
During the FFD retreat at Lonavala, I had a one-on-one session with Mayurika ma’am. She introduced me to the “ *ho'oponopono* ” practice.
I still practice today. It helps me feel calmer, more positive, and at peace especially after everything I went through emotionally.
The changes were subtle but deeply meaningful.
FHR Experience & Physical Breakthrough
The FHR experience was powerful. Despite having a frozen shoulder, I managed to perform around 80 Surya Namaskar, something I never thought was possible.
Seeing others push themselves and feeling the group energy made me realize how much we underestimate our own potential.
That moment reminded me of something Dr. Tripathi often says: “I know I can.”
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
Today, I am back to gym workouts, trekking, and structured eating. My shoulder mobility is improving with physiotherapy, and I am confident I will do even better in future retreats.
FFD taught me that health is not just about numbers it is about believing that change is possible.
