Hello,

My name is Kubera Raj. I am 51 years old and work as a Quality Assurance Manager in a corporate company. For around four to five years, I could feel my diabetes gradually getting worse. I tried different options, including herbal teas, but I was not seeing the improvement I wanted. I wanted to find a more structured way to manage my health and reduce my dependence on medicines.

Key Takeaways

• HbA1c reduced from 7.6% to 6.2%
• Weight reduced from 78 kg to 69 kg
• Blood sugar readings that often reached 200–300 came down to around 100–120
• Diabetes medication dosage reduced by half within about a month
• Joined a gym and introduced structured exercise
• Learned how food, fasting and meal timing affect my body

My Diabetes Story

Both my parents had diabetes for many years, so I was familiar with the condition. Before FFD, my blood sugar readings would often be 200, 250 or even 300.

At the time I joined FFD, I was taking 1,000 mg of metformin along with other diabetes tablets. My metformin dosage had increased as my sugar levels went up.

I wanted to move towards a lifestyle-based approach instead of continuously increasing medicines.

How I Found FFD

I came across Freedom From Diabetes through Facebook and Instagram advertisements and through friends.

One of my close friends had joined FFD, and after about three months, I met him and saw the changes he had achieved, including his weight loss.

That made me curious. I enquired about the programme and joined within a week.

My Reversal Journey

My HbA1c was 7.6% when I joined FFD. During the first three months, I followed the programme very strictly.

I experimented with different meal patterns and fasting routines as guided by the programme.

Within about a month, my diabetes medication dosage was reduced by half. I also started seeing a remarkable difference in my blood sugar readings.

From readings that were often 200–300, I began seeing numbers around 100, 110 and 120.

That gave me confidence that the programme was actually working.

My HbA1c came down to around 6.2% in the first three months. My weight also reduced from 78 kg to 69 kg.

Losing around 9 kg was something I had never imagined I could achieve.

The second quarter was more challenging. My corporate job involved travel, festive occasions and family events, and I found it difficult to say no to everything.

My consistency reduced, and my next HbA1c was not as good. I take responsibility for that because I know the programme itself was well planned.

I could not participate in the nine-day Fast for Freedom because of my official work and travel commitments.

Athletic Identity

Before joining FFD, I thought walking and small daily activities were enough.

Through the programme, I understood that structured exercise was also important.

I joined a gym and started incorporating more structured exercise into my routine.

This was an important change because I began looking at exercise as an essential part of managing my health.

Current Lifestyle

One of my biggest learnings from FFD has been discipline around food. I learned what to eat, when to eat and how my body responds to different foods and meal patterns.

My weight is currently around 72–73 kg after increasing from my lowest point.

Work and travel have made consistency challenging at times, but I now have a much better understanding of what I need to do.

The support from the FFD team has also made a big difference.

Whenever I have a question, I can reach out to the diet expert, exercise expert or doctor and receive guidance.
