My Health Story

My main challenge wasn’t diabetes, it was weight gain after a shoulder surgery.

Due to complete immobility, my physical activity came to a standstill, and I gained weight. When I joined FFD, my weight was around 69 kg.

Within a couple of months of joining, I faced another setback. I contracted severe chikungunya.

The pain was intense. I couldn’t stand without support, had no balance, and even walking to the bathroom felt impossible.

How Was FFD Introduced and What made mee Choose it?

I came to know about Freedom From Diabetes through my mother-in-law, who had already interacted with the doctors years back.

She was familiar with both Dr. Tripathi and Dr. Malhar. When I spoke to Dr. Malhar about my condition, he recommended the program not for weight loss alone, but for holistic recovery.

That conversation gave me confidence to begin.

During my Reversal journey

what truly stood out was the support system. Since I preferred not to go the allopathic route during chikungunya, FFD connected me with an Ayurvedic doctor.

My dietician aligned my food plan with the treatment, and my exercise routine was customised to match my pain levels.

Throughout that year, I followed the protocols as per my capacity, regularly listened to Dr. Malhar’s podcasts, and stayed consistent.

As my pain reduced by nearly 80%, I slowly returned to the gym and started following the program more actively.

My cholesterol markers and SGPT–SGOT ratio improved, my thyroid levels (T3 and T4) returned to normal ranges.

I lost a significant weight from 69kg to 60 kg and most importantly, my confidence to get back on the saddle returned with the strength I gained.

Athletic Identity

As my body grew stronger, Dr. Malhar helped me identify my athletic side.

After shedding weight and rebuilding stamina, I signed up for a long-distance cycling expedition from Bangkok to Phuket along the Gulf of Thailand.

I followed the nutrition, protein intake, supplements, and training guidance exactly as advised.

Despite working full-time, I built my strength and stamina enough to complete this challenging ride successfully.

Fasting & Lifestyle Practices

I completed the 9 Days Fasting Challenge twice. The first time was tough, but the second time felt rejuvenating and energising.

I lost around 2 kg, but more than weight, I lost inches and gained muscle.

Today, my routine includes gymming, cycling, yoga, walking, pranayam, and daily meditation.

I’m currently in a muscle-gaining phase and focus more on performance and strength than the weighing scale.

Current Lifestyle & Reflection

At 55, I feel stronger than I did at 40 and fitter than I was in my early 30s.

After over coming pain from a long history of arthritis, menopause, and shoulder surgery I’ve learned how to eat right, move right, and set meaningful fitness goals.

My next goal is cycling the Shimanami Kaido route in Japan, a 100 km ride across seven islands and six bridges.

FFD has been truly transformative for me. It taught me not just recovery, but how to build strength for the future.
