My Diabetes Story
My diabetes was diagnosed during a routine health checkup. I also had a strong family history, both my parents were diabetic so it wasn’t entirely unexpected.
At the same time, I was already on blood pressure medication, and the idea of adding more medicines felt like entering a vicious cycle. I wanted to come out of that loop.
Initially, I tried a keto diet, hoping it would help. But it didn’t work for me. In fact, after stopping keto, my weight increased significantly, which made things even more challenging.
How Was FFD Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?
I came across Freedom From Diabetes through a YouTube video by Dr. Hegde. What really influenced my decision were the success stories of people who had reversed their diabetes naturally.
After attending the Discover Reversal Session (DRS), I felt confident that this was the right path for me.

My Reversal Story
When I joined the program, my HbA1c was around 8, and I was taking one diabetes tablet daily (around 500 mg).
Within just 2–3 weeks of following the program, I was able to completely stop my diabetes medication.
Over time, my HbA1c dropped to 5.6, which was a significant turnaround.

Along with sugar control, many other health markers improved:
- My creatinine levels, which were borderline high, returned to normal
- Liver enzymes (SGPT and SGOT ratio) normalized
- Cholesterol improved (from 224 to 194)
- LDL and VLDL levels came under control
- I also managed to lose around 8 kg, bringing my weight from 97 kg down to 89 kg.
Another important milestone was clearing IGT, which indicated better glucose tolerance and metabolic health.
However, like many real journeys, mine also had ups and downs.
Due to travel and lifestyle disruptions, I regained some weight (up to 94 kg) and couldn’t follow the routine strictly for a period.
Due to travel and lifestyle disruptions, I regained some weight (up to 94 kg) and couldn’t follow the routine strictly for a period.
But the key difference now is awareness. I know exactly what to do to get back on track.
Athletic Identity
Currently, I practice yoga at home. Before my ligament injury, I was comfortably able to do 12 Surya Namaskars in one go.
I am now gradually getting back to my routine and aiming to rebuild my consistency once fully recovered.
Current Lifestyle & Reflection
Today, I continue to follow the principles I learned through FFD. I have also practiced the 9-day fasting challenge multiple times, losing over 3 kg during one such cycle.
Initially, doing fasting alongside work was challenging, but attending an offline session helped me understand the process better and gave me confidence.
I also noticed improvements in my skin. It became softer and healthier which was an unexpected but welcome change.
The inner transformation sessions, especially practicing gratitude, helped me shift my mindset. Instead of focusing only on what’s missing, I learned to appreciate how far I’ve come.
This journey has taught me that health is not about perfection it’s about getting back on track every time you slip.
