My Diabetes Story

My diabetes was detected during a routine full-body check-up in December 2018. At that time, my HbA1c was 7.7.

Interestingly, I did not experience any classic symptoms; no fatigue, excessive thirst, or weakness.

However, the numbers clearly showed that something needed attention.

There was no family history of diabetes, which made me even more alert about taking responsibility early.

How Was FFD Introduced and What Made Me Choose It?

One of my friends was already part of Freedom From Diabetes and was doing well.

Around the same time, I also came across FFD videos on YouTube.

Seeing her progress and understanding the philosophy, I decided to join the program.

I felt that if discipline and lifestyle correction could help, I should give it my full commitment.

Reversal & Medicine-Free Journey

When I joined FFD in March, I was taking Glycomet 250 mg once daily. Within five days, my medicine was stopped under guidance.

Today, without medication, my HbA1c remains around 6.4, and at times it has even touched 6.2.

I have also successfully cleared IGT, which was a major milestone for me.

  • My highest recorded weight was around 73 kg, and today I am around 66 kg.
  • More than weight, the most visible change has been inch loss.
  • Clothing size reduced from 2XL (42) to L
  • Waist and chest measurements reduced significantly
  • This physical change has been extremely motivating.

Athletic Identity

My athletic identity is deeply rooted in yoga.

One of my proudest achievements has been completing 108 Surya Namaskars within 45 minutes.

I also:
  • Walk 5 km daily
  • Climb stairs regularly (I live on the 7th floor)
  • Remain physically active throughout the day with household work
  • Despite my age, my energy levels remain high, and I feel strong and capable.

Dietary Discipline & Lifestyle Shift

Being a Bengali, non-vegetarian food was a regular part of my life earlier.

After joining FFD, I was advised to stop eating non-vegetarian food.

Today, I largely follow a plant-based, vegan diet, with non-vegetarian food being extremely rare.

This shift played a big role in my metabolic improvement.

I also follow:
  • Early dinner (before 7:30 pm)
  • Low-carb, balanced meals
  • Consistent daily routine

Fasting & Energy Levels

I have completed the 9-day fasting challenge with FFD and also observe Navratri fasts twice a year.

During the 9-day fasting phase, I lost about 3 kg, and even after resuming regular protocol-based eating, my energy levels stayed high.

People in my society often tell me they are amazed by my discipline and stamina.

Inner Strength & Reflection

I may not practice formal meditation, but my life itself is structured, active, and mindful.

I attend educational and motivational sessions regularly and remain deeply connected to the learning process.

Along with internal health improvements, I have also noticed visible changes in my appearance.

My skin has started glowing, and friends and family frequently compliment me for looking healthier and more glamorous.

These changes reassure me that the healing is happening from within.

My goal is very clear. I want to officially earn the certificate that says I am diabetes-free.

I continue to give my best every single day, balancing discipline with the realities of family life.
