Having tried the GM diet twice--both times losing weight only to put it back with interest—I don’t really have much faith in diets. But FFD’s program proved so much more than a diet.

Despite my earlier experiences with dieting, when I joined FFD, on my doctor’s suggestion to support my husband who was diabetic, it was with a clean slate. Because I felt the program was quite unique.

My weight at the time of joining FFD was 64 kg, with a BMI of 27. Incredibly I lost my excess baggage of 12 kg in just two and a half months and reached a healthy BMI of below 22.

On FFD’s Diet Protocol

I followed FFD’s diet protocols very honestly. It wasn’t easy, and stopping my morning cuppa chai was probably the most challenging, but within three days, I managed to quell the cravings and now I’m tea-less and quite happy. The same went for salads.

Although I never had a salad in my life, now I buy them wholesale. These little wins instilled confidence in my own ability to follow FFD’s diet protocols smoothly. And thus it proved, for instance, stopping wheat flour. All it took was changing wheat flour to barley and white rice to brown rice… that’s it! I’m quite proud that I managed to get through the first three months without breaking a single FFD dietary requirement.

This phase is followed by the acceleration phase, a seamless segue to the road of long fasting, which I’m pleased to say, I ended with a 72-hour fast. The result of all my efforts paid off soon enough. In about 2.5 months I lost a full 12 kg and reached my target BMI of less than 22. I cannot describe the euphoria I felt that day.

Then came Diwali, giving me another reason to celebrate, which I did wholeheartedly with all the sweets and Diwali delicacies. This gusto brought back about 2 kg in weight gain. But I quickly got my routine back on track; started having early dinners, resumed my FFD routine and soon reached my ideal weight.

However the experience had a positive too; it gave me confidence that I knew how to keep my weight in control and enjoy special days n festivals with special food, free from guilt. Now I follow a simple 3 meals-a-day plan, along with the yummy anabolic green smoothie in the morning and fruit in the evening.

Fit for Life

The program gave me so much confidence that when, a few months ago, my 9-year child developed gluten intolerance, I was able to manage his diet effortlessly, thanks to the knowledge I gained after joining FFD.

I feel so good. So energized. I feel like I’m in my twenties. Earlier I used to wake up with aches and pains in my neck or back… Now, not only do I rarely have any pain, and even when I do I know how to resolve it easily.

Earlier, I avoided morning walks but now I love my workouts and rarely miss my daily 8-10 km jog. I follow a 3:2:1plan. Viz. three days - weights, two days – jogging, and one day for yoga. I love the Wow Wednesday series too and follow along religiously.

What I Learned from FFD’s HTP Program

1) To give priority to myself and my health

2) How to be free from joint pains, body aches, and fatigue

 3) The knowledge and ability to stay in the pink of health and be much more organized

4) The art of graceful ageing—which is to stay forever fit. Because with fitness comes a fuller life.

Achievements

1) Did 108 Surya namaskars several times. I always aspired to greet the sun god on his arrival. Now thanks to FFD, I’m an early riser for life.

2) Able to do strength exercises with 5 kg dumbbells

3) I can do 12-minute planks thrice with a one-minute break after each set

4) I achieved my desire to complete a 10-km run

Gratitude

It’s hard to find the words to thank FFD and all the amazing experts who helped me transform my health.

  • Dr. Pramod Tripathi for his wonderful, well-organized, well-researched program that gave me the tools and confidence to reach for ever-higher goals.

  •  Dr. Malhar, whose sessions became a treasure to me. His witty remarks, like “you cannot insult your pancreas every day” keeps me aware and help me stay consistent in my workouts.

  • Dr. Lopa, my exercise expert, whose words or encouragement and guidance eased my sciatic nerve pain. When I got severe arthritis knee pain in the winter she helped me to cure physically and mentally as well. Just talking to her seemed to ease my pain.

  • Dr. Shraddha (Ayurvedic department), who deepened my faith in Ayurveda.

Heartfelt thanks also to my diet expert Pooja. She answered my big list of questions patiently, guiding me on how to keep my husband’s sugar at bay and maintain my weight as well.

And last but by no means the least, thank you to all the group administrators for their cheerful attitude and prompt replies to our queries.

Overall my experience with FFD has been nothing short of magical and I’ll forever be grateful for it!

Interestingly, my family doctor, who had suggested FFD as a patient of his had seen good results from the program, now asks other patients to talk to me about how to lose weight and get back to being fit.
